Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 August 2026. This is the policy linked from the Google OAuth consent screen for VMG CreatorTools.
Who we are
VirtualMediaGroup (“VMG”, “we”, “us”) builds CreatorTools, a Windows app for live streamers, and this website at virtualmediagroup.tv. We are based in London, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@virtualmediagroup.tv.
This policy covers (1) this website and (2) the CreatorTools desktop app, including Google / YouTube sign-in. The homepage for the product is virtualmediagroup.tv. Terms of use are at /terms.
Google and YouTube data
CreatorTools uses Google OAuth so you can connect your YouTube channel. The only Google scope we request is:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly
That is a read-only YouTube Data API scope. We do not request Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or the ability to upload, edit, or delete YouTube content.
How we access it. After you click Allow on Google’s consent screen, CreatorTools receives an access token (and, when Google issues one, a refresh token) on your PC. The app then calls YouTube Data API v3 from your machine to read:
- your channel id, title / handle, and subscriber count
- whether you are live, the live video title, concurrent viewers, and stream start time
- the active live chat id, so MultiChat can show YouTube chat next to Twitch and Kick
How we use it. Only to show that information in the local Stats dock, MultiChat dock, and YouTube subscriber overlay inside OBS on your computer. We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, resale, or training models.
How we store it. Tokens and connection details are stored locally in a file under your Windows user folder (typically %USERPROFILE%\.vmg-creatortools). They are not uploaded to VirtualMediaGroup servers. This website does not receive your Google tokens.
How we share it. We do not sell Google user data. We do not transfer it to our hosting, analytics, or email systems. The app talks to Google and YouTube so the APIs can return your channel data. If you use Report Issue, diagnostics go to GitHub as an issue you submit with your own GitHub account — that path does not include Google tokens.
Use of YouTube is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Revoke access. Disconnect YouTube inside CreatorTools. You can also remove VMG CreatorTools from Google Account → Third-party access.
Twitch and Kick
The same local app can sign you into Twitch and Kick. Those tokens are also stored only on your PC and used to read live stats and chat for OBS docks. Those logins are not Google sign-in. Disconnect them in the app, or revoke the app in each platform’s security settings.
This website
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you type, and we use them to reply. Email is sent to hello@virtualmediagroup.tv.
The web server and CDN may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and abuse prevention. We do not run advertising pixels on this site.
The download page asks GitHub’s public API for the latest CreatorTools release so the installer version, file name, and size stay current. That request does not send your Google account data.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
For Google / YouTube and other platform connections: your consent, which you give on the provider’s consent screen and can withdraw by disconnecting. For the contact form: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps toward a contract if you ask us to build something. You can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a copy of personal data we hold, or complain to the ICO. Because CreatorTools keeps Google tokens on your device, deleting the app data folder or disconnecting in the app is the primary way to erase that copy.
Children
CreatorTools is for streamers and is not directed at children under 13. Do not use Google sign-in for the app if you are below the age Google requires for your country.
Changes
If we change how we access, use, store, or share Google user data, we will update this page and the date above. The URL stays https://virtualmediagroup.tv/privacy.
